Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a float pool position requiring 2+ years of experience, Epic proficiency, and a VA or compact RN license.
Details
- Float Pool position covering various medsurg and telemetry units across acute care
- Floats across acute care areas including Geriatric/Palliative Care, Orthopedics & Trauma, Medicine, Surgical, Neurology, Epilepsy & Stroke, Acute Cardiology, Neurosurgery, Vascular, Heme/Onc, Solid Organ Transplant, Thoracic Cardiovascular, Digestive Health, Acute Care Special Pathogens Unit (COVID), and ED Boarders
- Does not include critical care or intermediate care unit floating, which are covered by a separate float pool
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 to 19:00
- 13-week contract with every other weekend and every other holiday required
- Must work 2 of 3 winter holidays including Thanksgiving, Black Friday, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day
- Schedules of 36 or 48 hours may be offered, though block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
Requirements
- Active VA or compact RN license required (pending license accepted if in hand by the Wednesday before start date)
- BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- BSN preferred
- Skilled in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
Additional Information
- Deliver telemetry-focused nursing care while floating across multiple acute care units based on staffing needs
- Must adhere to facility float policy and float within scope of practice as assigned
- Maximum of 40 hours RTO approved per 13-week contract, all of which must be disclosed at time of consideration
- Any vacation time between sign date and start date must be disclosed to arrange an appropriate start date
- Up to 16 non-billable orientation hours for specialty-specific training modules
- Previous facility employees (permanent staff or internal/external travelers) must have at least 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning
- External travelers cannot exceed 365 total assignment days at this facility, after which they are not eligible to return
- First-time travelers with a variety of relevant experience will be considered
