Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level I trauma experience and an NC or compact RN license.

Details

• Level I Trauma Center emergency department setting treating combined adult/pediatric populations
• 1:4 patient ratios
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 9:00 AM to 9:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Epic EMR experience required
• Bi-weekly orientation schedule

Requirements

• Active NC or Compact RN license required in hand
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• CPI certification preferred
• 2 years of recent Emergency Room experience required
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs required
• Experience with arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care preferred
• Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients preferred
• Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation monitoring preferred
• Neurological care experience including CVA, ICP monitoring, and traumatic brain injury preferred
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management preferred
• Triage skills required
• One supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide emergency care across a range of trauma and non-trauma cases including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputations, and pediatric injuries
• Work within a facility that is STEMI and Stroke certified
• Royal blue scrubs required
• Flu vaccine required with no exemptions during flu season (October 31 - March 31)
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates with prior permanent employment at this health system must disclose that history and must not have been a permanent employee within the past 6 months
• Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced pay rate
• RTO must be submitted upfront with a maximum of 5-7 days
