Description

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity Level I Trauma Center setting requiring ARRT (R)-MR or ARMRIT certification.

Details

  • Level I Trauma Center, Level III NICU, and Primary Stroke Center with 492 beds
  • Inpatient and outpatient adult patients, with occasional pediatric outpatients/ED cases
  • Average patient ratio of 1:1, approximately 4 patients per hour (40 patients per day)
  • MR procedures include Head/Neck, Abdomen, Pelvis, Spine, Extremities, and MRAs
  • Uses GE Artist 1.5T MRI equipment and Cerner EMR
  • 10-hour mid shifts, 40 hours per week, starting at 11:00 AM
  • Weekend rotation typically once per month, subject to departmental needs
  • Voluntary on-call requirement
  • May float throughout the Radiology department to different areas

Requirements

  • Current BLS and ARRT certification required
  • MRI Tech must hold ARRT (R)-MR or ARMRIT certification
  • License required if applicable
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with strong skill set required; first-time travelers considered with at least 2 years experience
  • Must be comfortable working in a high-acuity, fast-paced hospital environment
  • Must be able to work with adult and occasional pediatric patients

Additional Information

  • Perform MRI procedures across various body regions including head, neck, abdomen, pelvis, spine, and extremities
  • Orientation includes one 8-hour hospital orientation and 2-3 shifts on the unit shadowing another tech during day shift
  • One major and one minor seasonal holiday coverage expected per hospital policy
  • RTO requests of more than 7 days require manager approval and may require contract extension
  • Scrubs of any color permitted
  • Free parking available
  • Centralized transport services support patient transport to and from the department
  • MRI typically staffed with one tech and possible student on weekends, with two techs until 7:30 PM on Fridays
  • Local candidates within 60-mile radius not eligible for consideration
  • Returning perm staff must wait 6 months before being considered as a traveler
