Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position on a busy urology unit requiring 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Med/Surg Tele unit within a hospital setting, East Tower 3, a 27-bed Urology unit
• Patient population includes nephrology, urology (surgical and non-surgical), benign hematology, and general med/surg cases
• Patient ratio approximately 1:4-5
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating to different units within the health system required as needed

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skills required: IV starts, telemetry monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation and management, isolation precautions/PPE, chemotherapy monitoring, non-invasive airway management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second from a Charge RN; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Responsible for administering and managing hazardous medications as part of patient care
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required, and first-time travelers will be considered
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• RTO must be submitted and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible for travel positions at this health system
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict credentialing timelines
