Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring CA RN licensure and prior ER experience.

Details

• General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
• Level II Trauma Center that is also a STEMI and Stroke Certified Facility
• Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts featuring alternating start times of 7am, 10am, and 12pm
• Every other weekend required, with additional weekends possible based on unit needs
• Floating may be required based on facility needs
• Meditech charting system preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and MAB or CPI
• TNCC certification preferred
• Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
• AHA and Red Cross certifications accepted
• Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Proficient in obtaining 12-lead EKGs
• Skilled in arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV starts
• Experience with continuous IV paralytics, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration
• Experience managing CVA, ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury cases
• Skilled in splint application and orthopedic trauma care
• Experience with chest tube insertion/management, CPAP/BiPAP, ABG interpretation, intubation, and ventilated patients
• Experience managing gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Proficient in isolation precautions/PPE and triage
• Experience treating pediatric and adult conditions including abdominal pain, asthma, burns, head injury, seizures, and infections
• Experience managing psychiatric and behavioral health patients including acute psychosis, drug overdose, and suicidal patients

• Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma, medical, neurological, respiratory, and psychiatric presentations
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of consideration
• Travel pairs and 48-hour contracts are not accepted for this position
• Blocked schedules are not accommodated
• Holiday time off and excessive time off requests will likely not be approved
• Former permanent employees must be separated from the facility for at least 365 days before returning as a traveler
• Candidates who cancel or are canceled after accepting the assignment will be marked as Do Not Return
