Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with 3+ years of Cath Lab experience, competent in diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures including structural heart cases.
Details
- Level IV Trauma Center, major teaching hospital and COTH member with 838 staffed beds
- Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab setting
- Daily caseload of 8-10 cases per tech
- 4x10 hour day shifts, 6:30 AM-5:00 PM
- On-call required with 30-minute response time, rotating weekend call from Friday 7 PM through Monday 7 AM
- May float within scope of Cath Lab as needed, but primarily remains in unit
- No floating to sister facilities required
- Uses Cerner charting system
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of Cath Lab experience required, including competence in diagnostic and interventional procedures and structural heart cases
- BLS and ACLS certifications required, through AHA
- WV or Compact license required; pending license accepted for consideration but active WV license required before start
- ARRT registration required
- License required if applicable
- Note: WV does not recognize RCIS certification as licensed to work in the Cath Lab
- Experience with diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, PCI, PTCA, IABP placement/removal, cardiac stent placement, and cardiac implant closure devices
- Skilled in scrub procedures, sterile field maintenance, room circulating, and equipment setup
- Ability to recognize and interpret life-threatening arrhythmias and dysrhythmias
- Minimum of 2 Manager and/or Charge Nurse references from the past 2 years required
- SSN and DOB required at time of consideration
- No first-time travelers accepted; prior Cath Lab experience required
Additional Information
- Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, IABP placement/removal, and structural heart interventions such as cardiac implant closure devices and stent placements
- Responsible for equipment setup, maintaining sterile field, and acting as room circulator during procedures
- Adheres to infection control practices including isolation precautions, PPE use, and sterile technique
- Scrubs provided
- Free parking for travelers
- No RTO restrictions
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility, though those within 75-100 miles may be considered case-by-case at the same rate
- Former permanent employees must wait 2 years from last date of employment before returning as a traveler
- Current Vandalia Health System employees (including PRN and permanent staff) are not eligible for travel contracts within the health system, including CAMC Health Systems, Mon Health Systems, Davis Medical Center, Broaddus Hospital, Webster Memorial Hospital, Grafton City Hospital, Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, and Minnie Hamilton Health System
