Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced PACU RN with a VA or compact license and ICU/ER background for a 13-week travel assignment.

Details

• PACU unit located on the 2nd floor with 15 beds
• Patient ratios of 1:2 and 1:1
• Staffed with RNs and one PCT
• Uses GE bedside monitors, bladder scanner, central tele monitor, IV pumps, EKG, thermometer, and suction equipment
• Documentation via Expanse EMR
• 9 or 12-hour shifts, including 7a-7p and 7p-7a rotations
• On-call required 1-2 times per week plus one call weekend per month
• Two call holidays required per year
• Closed unit with no floating required
• Performs procedures such as ECT, bedside manipulations, and blood patches

Requirements

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• 1-2 years of ICU or ER experience preferred
• 1 year of floor nursing experience preferred
• Ventilator experience and critical drip management skills preferred
• Experience with Expanse documentation system helpful
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Provide perianesthesia nursing care in a fast-paced PACU environment
• Navy blue scrubs required as part of dress code
• Follow Expanse documentation guidelines and unit-specific policies
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
