Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift teaching hospital assignment requiring WI or compact license and 2 years of ICU experience.

Details

• ICU unit with 6 beds and average daily census of 4
• 3x12 night shift schedule, 7p-7a
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Every third weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• May float to Med Surg within scope as needed
• Epic charting system used
• Treats patients with CHF, COPD, stroke, DKA, AKI, SBO, detox, sepsis, and respiratory failure
• Performs rapid sequence intubation
• Uses Spacelabs monitors, ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and high flow oxygen equipment

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license in hand required, pending license not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, MAB
• Epic charting experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, central and PICC line care, and blood product administration
• Experienced in ventilator care, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and ETT/NT suctioning
• Skilled in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Experienced in CVA/acute stroke management and IV insulin protocols
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and multisystem organ dysfunction care

Additional Information

• Teaching hospital setting with 43 staffed beds
• Navy blue scrub color required
• First-time travelers considered depending on prior ICU experience
• Local candidates within 70 miles not accepted
• Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
