Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Telemetry RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience and night shift availability.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) caring for adult patients with acute cardiac, vascular, and thoracic needs
- Manages open heart post-op day one patients, stents, devices, ablations, and Chest Pain R/O cases
- Administers antiarrhythmic drips (amiodarone, cardizem) and heart failure drips (lasix, bumex, milrinone, dobutamine)
- Cares for post vascular and thoracic surgery patients
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
- No floating to other units or affiliate hospitals unless otherwise agreed during interview or offer
Requirements
- Active RN license (MT state or compact) currently in hand
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- 2 years of Cardiac Telemetry RN experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, port access and management, blood product administration, and central/peripheral/PICC line care and management
- Experience with cardiac drip titration and management, heparin protocols, and PCA
- Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and use of rapid response/code teams
- References required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provides cardiac monitoring and emergency response including telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia management
- Cares for CVA (cerebrovascular accident) patients and manages chest tubes, feeding tubes, and respiratory needs including oxygen administration
- Manages wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
- Cares for pre/post cardiac catheterization, angiogram, MI, and cardiac surgery patients
- First time travelers accepted
- Local candidates not accepted; must reside 75+ miles from the facility
- Former permanent employees must have a 2-year break in employment before being eligible
