Description

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care Unit RN for a float pool night shift position requiring NC or compact RN licensure and at least one year of nursing experience.

Details

• Hospital-based Inpatient Float Pool covering Progressive Care/Stepdown units
• Floats across Surgical, Neuro, Medicine, Cardiac, Cardiovascular, and Burn Center progressive care units based on facility needs
• May also float to acute care units with 1:5 patient ratios as needed
• Standard PCU patient ratios are 1:3, up to 1:4 max
• Night shift schedule, 7:00pm-7:00am
• 36 hours per week, 3 shifts of 12 hours each
• Weekend rotation required (every other weekend)
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license in North Carolina (Standard or Compact)
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum one year of nursing experience required
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN required; BSN or MSN preferred
• Ability to perform bedside point of care testing

Additional Information

• Coordinates and delivers patient care using the nursing process under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Director
• Responsible for patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation for complex cases
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to promote continuity and cost-effective care
• Participates in discharge planning and patient/family education
• Promotes a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
• Holiday coverage required on a rotating basis (every other holiday)
