Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2 years of recent L&D experience and NC or Compact licensure at a teaching hospital.
Details
- Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a teaching hospital with over 300 births per month
- Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Open availability required with no blocked scheduling
- Every other weekend required
- Float between High Risk and Labor & Delivery units as needed
- Epic charting system used
Requirements
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) required in hand
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- AWHONN Beginner, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM certifications preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required
- Epic charting experience required
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- 1 supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide labor and delivery nursing care including fetal monitoring, vaginal and C-section deliveries, and high-risk obstetric management
- Care for patients with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, placenta previa, preterm labor, and substance abuse
- Support antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care including lactation support and newborn assessments
- Scrubs provided in royal blue
- Bi-weekly orientation schedule
- Flu vaccine required with no exemptions during flu season (October 31 - March 31)
- Up to three absences allowed per 13-week contract; excessive tardiness or no call/no show may result in contract review
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Local candidates accepted within 75 miles at a reduced rate
- Candidates with previous permanent employment at this health system must disclose this history and must not have been a permanent employee within the past 6 months
- RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum
