Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Labor & Delivery position requiring 2 years of experience and CA RN licensure.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting with 4 antepartum rooms, 9 labor/high-risk rooms, and 3 triage bays
• Facility performs 200-300 births per month
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Float to postpartum required, including couplet care for newborn and maternal patients when needed
• Uses Epic EMR
• High risk pregnancy monitoring, fetal heart monitoring, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NRP, FHM, and AWHONN Advanced (or NCC EFM in lieu of AWHONN)
• Skills required: labor and delivery management, assisting with vaginal delivery, circulating for C-section, and scrubbing for C-section (preferred)
• Sterile vaginal exam competency required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum, high-risk, and postpartum support as needed
• May be required to float to sister facilities within the region
• Navy blue scrubs required for RNs; L&D/OR/Cath Lab scrubs provided by facility
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront at time of application for consideration
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Former permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Local candidates within 50 miles accepted at a lower bill rate
