Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of experience in a high-acuity, Level 1 trauma center setting.

Details

• Work in the IMCU (Intermediate Care Unit), a 10-bed unit within a high-acuity, inner-city Level 1 trauma center
• Patient ratio of 1 to 4
• Patient population includes sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes, substance abuse, and encephalopathy cases
• Administers Heparin drips
• 12-hour night shifts, 4 shifts per week
• No on-call responsibilities
• Travelers expected to work 4 weekend shifts per month
• Block scheduling generally not approved

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Proven experience in high-pressure, large-scale trauma environments required
• Background in high-volume hospitals managing diverse and severe cases required

• Provide progressive/intermediate level care to medically complex patients in a fast-paced trauma center environment
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as traveler rate
