Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift contract role at a Level III Trauma Center, requiring 2+ years of experience.

Details

• 12-hour night shift schedule (1800-0630) at 36 standard hours per week
• Level III Trauma Center with 60 beds
• Respiratory Therapy Services covering the entire hospital, including newborn response for c-sections
• Treats patients ranging from neonate to geriatric with respiratory issues
• 2 RTs on shift with House Supervisor, Manager/Supervisor, Hospitalist, and Rapid Response/Code Team support available 24/7
• Uses EPIC EMR and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Unit-specific equipment includes V60 and V30 BiPAP, Servo-U Vents, and Hamilton and ParaPac transport vents
• Floats throughout the hospital as needed
• Weekend rotation every third weekend
• No on-call requirements

Requirements

• RRT certification required; CRT not accepted
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Minimum 12 months of core work experience in unit specialty area, with most recent experience within the last year
• First-time travelers with 5+ years of experience will be considered
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Skilled in assisting with intubations, ventilator management, nebulizer treatments, BiPAP, CPAP, ABG collection, and responding to codes and rapid responses
• Active license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
• Candidate's middle name or initial, date of birth, and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for respiratory care across neonatal to geriatric patients, including newborn support during c-sections
• Orientation includes NEO and one shift to learn unit flow
• Holiday coverage required for 50% of holidays per contract
• Up to 5 days of RTO may be approved
• Scrubs must be any solid, professional color

• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restrictions
• Former Advocate Health employees or subsidiary employees must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible for travel assignments
