Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with a CA license for a critical access hospital, requiring proficiency in orthopedic, general, and ENT surgical procedures.

Details

• Perioperative/Operating Room setting within a critical access hospital
• Circulates and provides direct nursing care for OR patients
• Strong comfort with Orthopedics (Arthrex, Depuy, Synthes), general surgery, and ENT procedures
• 12-hour varied shifts, 7a-7:30p, including holidays and weekends
• Call coverage required, one call shift per week from 730p-7a, scheduled immediately following a shift
• 13-week assignment length
• 36 guaranteed hours per week

Requirements

• Active California RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Minimum of 2 years operating room experience required
• Cerner experience preferred
• CNOR certification preferred
• Demonstrated competency in creating and maintaining a sterile field
• Strong critical thinking and communication skills

Additional Information

• Initiate and coordinate plans of care based on surgical, medical, and nursing diagnoses
• Assess and monitor patient status through interviews, observation, and review of records and diagnostics
• Anticipate equipment and supply needs prior to surgical cases
• Collaborate with physicians, ancillary staff, and other departments to ensure patient safety and quality care
• Evaluate nursing interventions and revise care plans as needed based on patient reassessment
• Dorm-style housing may be available within walking distance of the hospital, subject to availability
