Description
American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and skill in ventilator management and drip titrations.
Details
- Medical ICU setting with 10 beds and a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Night shift schedule with self-scheduling subject to change for balanced coverage
- Requires proficiency in telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, and drip titrations including cardiac, sedation, and paralytic drips
- RNs are responsible for reading their own telemetry strips
- Charge nurse present on each shift and typically takes a patient assignment
- Hospitalist/Intensivist and Respiratory Therapy staff available in the ICU 24/7
- Floating to other units/floors may be required
- Weekend requirement of 6 shifts within a 6 week period
- Holiday coverage required for 2 summer and 3 winter holidays
- No call or standby requirements
- Uses EPIC EMR system
Requirements
- Active KY or Compact RN license required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
- Experience with telemetry, ventilator care, and drip titrations required
- BSN not required for this position
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Medical ICU environment
- Collaborate with in-house hospitalists/intensivists and respiratory therapists available around the clock
- Unit-specific orientation consists of 1-2 shifts
- Dress code requires Galaxy Blue scrubs
- First-time travelers may be considered for this position
