Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring at least 1 year of ICU experience and skill in ventilator management and drip titrations.

Details

• Medical ICU setting with 10 beds and a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Night shift schedule with self-scheduling subject to change for balanced coverage
• Requires proficiency in telemetry monitoring, ventilator management, and drip titrations including cardiac, sedation, and paralytic drips
• RNs are responsible for reading their own telemetry strips
• Charge nurse present on each shift and typically takes a patient assignment
• Hospitalist/Intensivist and Respiratory Therapy staff available in the ICU 24/7
• Floating to other units/floors may be required
• Weekend requirement of 6 shifts within a 6 week period
• Holiday coverage required for 2 summer and 3 winter holidays
• No call or standby requirements
• Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

• Active KY or Compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Experience with telemetry, ventilator care, and drip titrations required
• BSN not required for this position
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, including employment dates and rehire eligibility

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Medical ICU environment
• Collaborate with in-house hospitalists/intensivists and respiratory therapists available around the clock
• Unit-specific orientation consists of 1-2 shifts
• Dress code requires Galaxy Blue scrubs
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
