Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a Level I & II Trauma hospital night shift position requiring 2+ years of experience and NICU/Pediatric background.

Details

• Rotating 4x8 and 5x8 night shifts from 1830-0300, totaling 72 hours per pay period
• Weekend requirement of approximately every other Saturday and Sunday
• Work settings include Adult Critical Care, Emergency Department, NICU, Pediatric Critical Care, and Pediatrics
• Involved in transports and neonatal inter-departmental transports
• Utilizes a variety of ventilator types including oscillating, pressure/volume, and high frequency oscillator
• Performs procedures such as bronchoscopy, intubation assist, and chest physiotherapy
• Epic charting system used

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as an RRT
• NICU/Pediatric RRT experience preferred
• Level I and Level II Trauma experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• MN RRT license required (pending license accepted if obtained by start date); license required if applicable
• NBRC RRT certification required
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Skilled in ventilator management including CPAP, BiPAP, IMV, and high frequency oscillation
• Experience with arterial blood gas drawing and interpretation
• Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and tracheostomy care
• Experience administering medications via aerosol, MDI, and nebulizer delivery systems

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care to adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients across critical care and emergency settings
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and neonatal transports
• Manage patients with conditions such as ARDS, RSV, cystic fibrosis, and respiratory distress syndrome
• Dove gray scrub color required
• Holiday coverage required as needed by the facility
• Must complete required lab work and Livescan fingerprinting within 48 hours of signing contract
• Fingerprinting must be completed in person in Minnesota prior to the scheduled start date
• First-time travelers accepted
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 9 months before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted, with no RTO during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• Does not accept local candidates within 25 miles of the facility
