Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a Level I/II Trauma hospital night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of experience and Epic charting experience.

Details

• Respiratory Therapy department in a Level I and Level II Trauma hospital setting
• Cares for adult critical care, emergency department, pediatric, and NICU patient populations
• Performs medication delivery, ventilator management, and airway management procedures
• Uses Epic EMR system
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 18:30-07:00
• Set six-week block schedule with every 3rd weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as needed by facility

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• NICU/Pediatric RRT experience preferred
• Level I and Level II Trauma experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, RRT (NBRC)
• Minnesota RRT license required if applicable; will accept pending license if obtained by start date

Additional Information

• Performs ventilator management including CPAP, BiPAP, high frequency oscillator, and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Administers a variety of respiratory medications and manages airway devices including intubation and extubation assistance
• Provides care for patients with ARDS, aspiration, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, and neonatal/pediatric respiratory conditions
• Participates in neonatal transports and high-risk delivery support as needed
• Dove gray scrub color required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Local candidates not accepted; travelers must reside more than 25 miles from the facility
• Former permanent staff must be separated from the facility for at least 9 months before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted, with no RTO allowed during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• All RTO requests must be disclosed and approved at time of consideration
• Required lab work must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
• Minnesota Livescan fingerprinting must be completed in person within the state on the Monday prior to the scheduled start date, applicable to all candidates regardless of residency
