Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment requiring 2 years of L&D experience and AK RN licensure.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit setting
- Night shift schedule (3x12, 19:00-7:00)
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Equitable weekend shift rotation required
- Floating required 0-3 times per month within OB as helping hands, sitter/camera watching, or CNA type work
Requirements
- Active AK RN license required
- Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required; LDRP experience preferred
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, NRP
- AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
- EFM certification through intermediate AWHONN or Relias/Gnosis accepted
- Skilled in labor and delivery management including amnioinfusion, high-risk and vaginal delivery assistance, forceps/vacuum extraction, and hemorrhage/shock management
- Experience administering medications such as antihypertensives, antiseizure drugs, insulin drips, magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, prostaglandins, and terbutaline
- Neonatal care skills including APGAR scoring, neonatal resuscitation, cord sample collection, and use of radiant warmers
- Newborn care skills including circumcision assistance, cord care, discharge teaching, and newborn assessment
- Antepartum care skills including NST, sterile vaginal exams, and obstetrical triage
- Experience with fetal monitoring including external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement/calibration
- Any charting system experience required
- Epic experience preferred (1 year)
- Two supervisor references from the past 2 years required for consideration
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in a collaborative, interdisciplinary care team environment
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care needs, documenting according to established standards
- Direct and delegate care to team members based on education, credentials, and competence
- Participate in unit policy development, procedure maintenance, and quality improvement initiatives
- Royal blue scrub color required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Pending AK license applicants accepted, though start date may be delayed while licensure is processed
- Local candidates not accepted; candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facility
- Previous PeaceHealth employees must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Candidates with more than one DUI are not eligible for consideration
- RTO must be disclosed and approved prior to contract signing, with no additional RTO approved after signing
