Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown unit position requiring telemetry skills and Epic EMR experience.

Details

• Work in the Stepdown (PCU/DOU/IMC) unit of a hospital environment
• Cardiac telemetry and MS/Tele patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:3 to 5
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Required to work every second weekend
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (IN state or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of stepdown/telemetry nursing experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/PICC/peripheral line management, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team utilization
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, and tracheostomy management
• Experience with neurological conditions such as CVA, intracranial bleeds, seizure disorders, and TBI
• Experience with cardiovascular procedures including pacemakers, cardiac cath, TAVR, and VAD management

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to stepdown/telemetry patients with cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and renal conditions
• Utilize isolation precautions and PPE as needed
• Perform wound care and wound vac management
• Manage IV insulin protocols and insulin drip titration
• First-time travelers are not being considered for this position
