Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Step Down/Telemetry position requiring 2+ years of experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• Step Down unit setting within a hospital environment
• Cardiac telemetry, MS/Tele, PCU/DOU/IMC patient population
• Patient ratios ranging from 1:3 to 1:5
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Every second weekend rotation required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (IN or Compact) currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management
• Experience with neurological and psychiatric conditions including CVA, TBI, and seizure disorders

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care for cardiac, telemetry, neurological, respiratory, and renal patient populations
• Participate in cardiac monitoring and emergency response including rapid response/code team activation
• Manage wound care, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols
• Support post-procedural care for cardiac catheterization, TAVR, and pacemaker patients
• First-time travelers not considered for this position
