Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Step Down/Telemetry position requiring 2+ years of experience and Epic charting proficiency.
Details
- Step Down unit setting within a hospital environment
- Cardiac telemetry, MS/Tele, PCU/DOU/IMC patient population
- Patient ratios ranging from 1:3 to 1:5
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
- Every second weekend rotation required
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active RN license (IN or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and PICC line management
- Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
- Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy management
- Experience with neurological and psychiatric conditions including CVA, TBI, and seizure disorders
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care for cardiac, telemetry, neurological, respiratory, and renal patient populations
- Participate in cardiac monitoring and emergency response including rapid response/code team activation
- Manage wound care, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols
- Support post-procedural care for cardiac catheterization, TAVR, and pacemaker patients
- First-time travelers not considered for this position
