Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a day shift assignment requiring 2 years of L&D experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Labor and Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
- Facility performs 200-300 births per month
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Patient population includes labor, preterm labor, and high-risk antepartum cases
- Staffing ratio ranges from 1:1 to 1:3
- Duties include circulating, OB-GYN, pre-op/post-op, scrub, low risk antepartum, and low risk L&D care
- Attends all deliveries including high-risk deliveries and GYN surgeries
- Provides couplet care and transition nursery support
- Floating required to Post-Partum and possibly L&D at a nearby sister facility
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active WA state or compact RN license required, must be in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
- ACLS certification preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skilled in blood/blood product administration, central line maintenance, and IV therapy
- Experience with anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy
- Experience assisting with high-risk deliveries, circulating and recovering C-sections, and performing sterile vaginal exams
- Skilled in epidural anesthesia support, pain assessment, and PCA (IV) use
- Experience with fetal monitoring and IUPC placement/calibration
- Postpartum care and wound assessment experience required

- Teaching hospital environment with a collaborative team culture, including staff book clubs and group activities
- Candidates may request up to 2 of 3 major holidays off (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Former permanent employees of other Providence facilities (non-Swedish) may be eligible after a 3-month separation period
- Compact licenses are honored across all Swedish facilities
- Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years are required for consideration
- Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities as part of the consideration process
