Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring an active CA RN license and prior cardiac catheterization lab experience.
Details
- Cath Lab unit within a cardiovascular center at a teaching hospital setting
- Four 10-hour day shifts (0700-1730 or 0900-1930) with on-call rotation required
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Floating within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals based on census and unit needs
- No blocked scheduling or self-scheduling available
- 13-week contract length
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; first-time travelers with matching skillsets and similar facility experience will be considered
- Acute care experience required, with at least 1 year of specialty experience within the past 2 years for specialized units
- IV start skills required
- Cardiac cath lab procedural experience required, including diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, PCI, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Experience with EKG/ECG interpretation and dysrhythmia management required
- Must pass EKG exam (up to 3 attempts)
- Two manager references required, including at least one supervisory/director/manager reference from within the past year
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
- May also work in hybrid OR and interventional radiology settings depending on unit needs
- Responsibilities include circulating procedures, monitoring procedural sedation, and managing vascular closure devices
- 7 days of RTO permitted, with no RTO allowed during the first 2 weeks of the assignment; RTO cannot be changed once submitted
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- Previous UCSD employees must disclose prior employment and receive approval before starting the assignment
- Candidates who have worked at the facility previously must have a 1-year break before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers may be considered if they meet all required skillsets and have similar facility experience
