Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift hospital assignment requiring at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience and a GA or compact RN license.
Details
- Medical Surgical unit caring for adult to geriatric patients
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
- Patient ratio of 1:6 across 32 rooms with an average daily census of 29
- Unit systems include Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR
- Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
- Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
- No on-call requirements
- Navy blue scrubs required
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Skills required: isolation precautions/PPE, wound care/wound vac, nasal cannula, high flow nasal cannula, chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac), starting and maintaining IVs, PICC line management, blood product administration, and feeding tube care/management
- CVA experience preferred
- Telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience preferred, along with rapid response/code team familiarity
Additional Information
- Care for patients with a wide range of Med/Surg diagnoses
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Charge nurse experience preferred but not required
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, finalized at time of submission
- No RTO permitted during orientation week
- Holiday coverage required based on how many major holidays fall during the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
- Full compliance required prior to start to avoid a two-week delay due to biweekly orientation scheduling
- Previous Piedmont employees (perm/per diem/FCSS) must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
- Travelers previously not returned to a Piedmont facility must complete one successful assignment elsewhere before reapplying
