Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level I Trauma Center, requiring an active MA RN license and prior Level I trauma experience.
Details
- Level I Trauma Center emergency department setting
- Evening shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 15:00-03:30
- Assignment length of 26 weeks with options for 36 or 48 hours per week
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Must be able to work all 7 days with no special scheduling accommodations due to union facility rules
Requirements
- Active MA RN license required in hand
- Minimum of 1.5 years (18 months) of experience required, 2+ years preferred
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: NIHSS, TNCC
- Must be able to read telemetry and interpret dysrhythmias
- Skills in respiratory care, ventilated patient care, and cardiac monitoring/emergency response required
- Triage skills preferred
- Experience in Psych/Behavioral Health ED is an additional skill
- Two references required for consideration, one from a Nurse Manager or higher
Additional Information
- Must pass two pass/fail exams during orientation: a medication exam and a telemetry exam, each with only 1 attempt allowed
- Failure to pass either exam results in immediate contract cancellation
- Multiple study materials provided during compliance process and facility-directed instruction
- Holiday coverage requires inclusion of 1 major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year) in RTO
- Priority given to candidates with minimal RTO and 26-week contracts
- Up to 14 days of RTO can be submitted for review, with no RTO allowed in the first week
- Local candidates accepted with a 200-mile radius rule for RNs
- Returning staff must have a 12-month separation from the health system
- Modules must be completed pre-start, during orientation, and annually, and are recorded by the facility
