Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring med-surg experience and ACLS certification.
Details
- Med/Surg-Tele unit specializing in Trauma, Orthopedics, and Medical-Surgical care
- 36-bed unit staffed with charge nurses, RNs, LPNs, PCTs and secretary support
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 6:1
- Utilizes IV pumps, wound vacs, SCD pumps, Kangaroo pumps, chest tubes, telemetry, PCA pumps, BiPAPs, and epidurals
- Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Every other weekend shift required
- On-call required during periods of low census
- Floating required to 6A, 3A, 3South, and 4South units
- 13-week assignment
Requirements
- Active RN license (LA or Compact) currently in hand
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 1 year of recent Med-Surg experience required
- Strong critical thinking and team collaboration skills required
- Prioritization and time management skills preferred
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- US SSN and DOB required for consideration
Additional Information
- Perform wound vac changes, wound care, IV insertions, and indwelling foley catheter insertions
- Ceil blue scrubs required; sweatshirts and crocs not permitted
- Strong team-oriented personality is a key fit for this unit
- Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
