Description
American Traveler is hiring an RN - Telemetry for a night shift acute telemetry unit position requiring ACLS and BLS certification.
Details
- Acute Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
- Patient population includes MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, and some med surg overflow
- Manages cardiac drips (does not titrate)
- Nurse to patient ratio is typically 5:1, occasionally 6:1
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Required to float when needed
- Ceil Blue scrubs required
Requirements
- Active RN license (State or Compact) in Louisiana
- BLS certification from AHA required
- ACLS certification from AHA required
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred
- One year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred
Additional Information
- Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients
- Administers medications and treatments, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
- Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided
- Assesses learning needs and educates patients and families
- Attends New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days of hire
- New hires are precepted by a designated trained staff member with competency validation
- Temp to perm opportunity is a possibility
- Candidates must reside within 50 miles for local rate consideration
- Previous CHRISTUS Health System employees must be separated for 6 months prior to starting a travel assignment
