Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring Level I Trauma Center experience and a compact or Ohio RN license.
Details
- Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
- STEMI and Stroke Certified Facility
- Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- 13-week assignment
Requirements
- Active compact or Ohio RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Skills required: IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, administration of continuous IV paralytics, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and IV vasopressors
- Experience with procedural sedation administration/monitoring, 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition, and interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
- Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure required
- Triage experience preferred
- Skills preferred: arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care/management
- Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor and the second from a manager, director, supervisor, or charge RN; coworker references not accepted
Additional Information
- Provide emergency care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response for a diverse patient population
- Must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract, with candidates outside Ohio required to travel to a fingerprinting location or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet urgently
- RTO must be requested and built into the contract prior to consideration, limited to 7 days or less
- Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
- Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible to work as a traveler
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
