Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position on a busy ortho-surgical unit, requiring at least 1 year of recent acute care med/surg experience.

Details

• Surgical Ortho unit in a hospital setting with 43 beds
• Handles a variety of surgical cases excluding cardiac and open neuro surgery
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6 on days and 1:6 on nights
• Uses Meditech EMR
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 13-week assignment
• Rotating weekends required with self-scheduling allowed within reason
• Floating required to the Medical unit and ER to provide med/surg hold nurse coverage

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• Minimum 1 year of recent med/surg nursing experience in an acute care setting required
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to post-surgical orthopedic and general surgical patients
• Team includes charge nurses, RNs, CNAs, and a unit secretary on each shift
• Royal blue scrubs required as part of the dress code
• Candidates should be willing team players who ask questions when unsure of unit processes
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, no local candidates accepted
