Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Registered Nurse for a night shift assignment at a teaching hospital, requiring at least 1 year of experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
13-week assignment length
Requires cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills
Involvement with Rapid Response/Code teams
Performs IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
Provides respiratory support including nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, and oxygen administration

Requirements

Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
Current BLS certification required
Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg nursing experience required
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Experience with isolation precautions and proper PPE use required
2 professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second from a Charge RN; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

Provides direct patient care within a Med/Surg unit including monitoring, emergency response, and line management
Works within a teaching hospital environment
Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
Current employees of this health system are ineligible for travel assignments at any of its hospital locations
RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract due to strict state credentialing timelines
First-time travelers may be considered for this position
