Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiac Stepdown position requiring at least 2 years of cardiac stepdown experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

• Stepdown Cardiac unit at a teaching hospital
• 12-hour rotating day/night shifts with weekend requirements
• CVT nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 to 1:4
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Must be able to float to other UCSF facilities or units within a 75+ mile radius
• Cardiac telemetry monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required at time of consideration
• BSN required
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• CCRN certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac stepdown/CV TCU/PCU experience required (hard stop requirement)
• Prior travel nursing experience required (hard stop requirement)
• Teaching hospital experience required and must be noted in employment history
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Prior transplant experience preferred
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration)
• Experience with heparin protocols and use of rapid response/code teams
• Experience caring for post-MI and pre/post cardiac cath and cardiac surgery patients
• Two references from most recent employer required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac stepdown nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response
• Care for patients in cardiac telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown, and CVA settings
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Any prior employment with University of California medical facilities or their acquired facilities must be disclosed with full employment history for rehire eligibility review
• All requested time off must be disclosed at time of consideration and approved by the manager; no time off permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment or requested mid-contract
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers
• Travel pairs allowed but generally not placed on the same unit; married couples may not work on the same unit
