Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist (CRT or RRT) with 2+ years of experience across all age populations for a night shift assignment.

Details

• Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit
• Night shift schedule with alternating 36/48 hour weeks (3x12 and 4x12 hours), 18:30 to 07:00
• Cares for patients across all age populations

Requirements

• Current CRT or RRT certification required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Prior travel experience required
• License required if applicable
• Experience with medication delivery systems including aerosol setups, MDIs, and nebulizers
• Experience administering medications such as Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, inhaled Flolan, inhaled steroids, Mucomyst, Pulmicort, Racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, and Xopenex
• Experience caring for patients with ARDS, aspiration, COVID, cystic fibrosis, fresh tracheostomy, and pneumonia
• Bronchoscopy experience preferred
• Experience with arterial punctures preferred
• Skilled in oxygen therapy, bag and mask ventilation, ET tube management, HFNC, and trach collar use
• Proficient in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and IMV
• Skilled in troubleshooting high pressure alarms and weaning from mechanical ventilation
• Experience with airway management including intubation assist, extubation, and nasal/oral suctioning
• Skilled in tracheostomy care and pulmonary hygiene
• Basic EKG and chest physiotherapy skills required
• Experience drawing arterial blood gases

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include medication administration, airway management, ventilator management, and pulmonary hygiene care
• Facility conducts its own drug screening upon arrival, including marijuana testing, and candidates should avoid any substances that could result in a positive result
• Candidates must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer
• Local candidates are not accepted
• Candidates must reside more than 110 miles from the facility to be eligible
