Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor and Delivery RN for a Level II Trauma teaching hospital requiring AWHONN Advanced, NRP Advanced, and CA RN licensure.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within an acute care, Magnet-designated, teaching hospital with Level II Trauma designation
• 1:2 nurse to patient ratio
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00-19:00
• Weekend requirement of 2 weekends every 6 weeks, which may include Friday nights
• No on-call requirements
• No floating required outside of scope
• Not open to block scheduling
• Facility volume ranges from fewer than 100 to over 300 births annually
• Cerner charting system

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS, AWHONN Advanced, NRP Advanced (all 11 components), and Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM) certifications required
• ACLS and EFM certifications also required
• Minimum 1-2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Vaginal exam ability/experience required
• Baby care ability/experience required
• Pending licenses not accepted

Additional Information

• Provide direct nursing care to laboring and postpartum patients including vaginal exams and newborn care
• Strict dress code: no facial hair, acrylic nails, unnatural hair colors, visible piercings other than earlobe earrings, and all tattoos must be covered
• Scrubs may be any color except camouflage or character patterns
• Holiday time off requests limited to one request, though staff are typically expected to work holidays
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates accepted at standard bill rate
• Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
