Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with rotating day/night shifts and required telemetry experience.

Details

• MS/Tele unit within a hospital setting
• 36 hours per week on a rotating day/night schedule (3x12 hour shifts)
• Rotation occurs every 4 weeks, with the same shift held for 4 weeks before switching
• Day shift hours 7:00-19:30 and night shift hours 19:00-7:30
• Floating required within OSU health system
• Required to work every other weekend (Friday & Saturday)

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Previous telemetry experience required
• Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drips
• Strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills
• Experience with rapid response/code teams
• IV therapy/phlebotomy and peripheral line care/management experience
• Respiratory care skills including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and oxygen tank use
• Non-invasive airway management skills
• Isolation precautions/PPE knowledge
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response for Med/Surg Tele patients
• Perform dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Utilize rapid response/code teams as needed
• First-time travelers considered for this role
• RTO must be submitted with the initial contract and limited to 7 days or less
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current OSU employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon signing contract, with candidates outside Ohio required to travel to a fingerprinting location or complete a mailed packet
