Description
American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with rotating day/night shifts and required telemetry experience.
Details
- MS/Tele unit within a hospital setting
- 36 hours per week on a rotating day/night schedule (3x12 hour shifts)
- Rotation occurs every 4 weeks, with the same shift held for 4 weeks before switching
- Day shift hours 7:00-19:30 and night shift hours 19:00-7:30
- Floating required within OSU health system
- Required to work every other weekend (Friday & Saturday)
Requirements
- Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
- Previous telemetry experience required
- Experience with IV insulin protocols and insulin drips
- Strong cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills
- Experience with rapid response/code teams
- IV therapy/phlebotomy and peripheral line care/management experience
- Respiratory care skills including nasal cannula, oxygen administration, and oxygen tank use
- Non-invasive airway management skills
- Isolation precautions/PPE knowledge
- Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and no coworker references accepted
Additional Information
- Provide cardiac monitoring and emergency response for Med/Surg Tele patients
- Perform dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Utilize rapid response/code teams as needed
- First-time travelers considered for this role
- RTO must be submitted with the initial contract and limited to 7 days or less
- Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
- Current OSU employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon signing contract, with candidates outside Ohio required to travel to a fingerprinting location or complete a mailed packet
