Description
American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a high-risk perinatal unit requiring night shifts, 2 years of experience, and AWHONN/fetal monitoring certification.
Details
- Level III high-risk perinatal unit with 19 labor and delivery beds, 10 antepartum beds, 30 postpartum beds, 3 ORs, 2 PACU, and a 7-bay triage area
- Facility performs 200-300 deliveries per month
- Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-07:30
- Target staffing ratios of 1:1 in labor, 1:3 couplet care in postpartum with CNA support, and 1:2-3 in antepartum
- Weekend shifts required
- Floating required to Postpartum unit
- On-call not required
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required, following AWHONN standards
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- NRP certification required
- AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Monitoring certification required (AWHONN Advanced preferred)
- Epic charting experience required
- Sterile vaginal exam (SVE) competency required
- Experience in facilities with 100+ deliveries per month, 200+ preferred
- Skilled in labor and delivery management, high-risk delivery assistance, C-section circulation, and fetal monitoring
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
Additional Information
- Provide comprehensive nursing care across labor, antepartum, and postpartum units including high-risk pregnancy management
- Support neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and neonatal resuscitation
- Assist with medication administration including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives
- Level II Trauma Center with 571 total staffed beds across campuses
- Scrubs of any color accepted except reddish-orange
- Facility-paid parking provided
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- May be required to float to sister facilities within the region
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
- Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius
- All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application, as post-submission RTO requests may not be honored
