Description
American Traveler is hiring an MFM Clinic Sonographer with ARDMS OB/GYN and Fetal Echocardiography certification and at least 2 years of experience to provide high-risk obstetric ultrasound services.
Details
- MFM clinic setting providing specialized high-risk obstetric ultrasound services
- Performs advanced OB ultrasound examinations and assists MFM physicians with invasive procedures such as amniocentesis and CVS
- Uses Viewpoint and PACS systems for image import and documentation
- 4x9 hour weekday shifts with no weekends
- 36 guaranteed hours
- On-call availability may be required
Requirements
- Active state license required if applicable
- Minimum 2 years of related experience required
- Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program through CAAHEP
- ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (OB/GYN) certification required
- ARDMS Fetal Echocardiography (FE) registry required
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to perform effectively in a busy, high-stress clinical environment
Additional Information
- Evaluate fetal anatomy, growth, and well-being, identifying abnormal findings and obtaining additional images as directed
- Select appropriate equipment and transducers, educate and position patients, and obtain relevant health histories
- Provide patient education and support before, during, and after procedures
- Maintain examination rooms and perform high-level disinfection of ultrasound transducers per infection control standards
- Collaborate with MFM physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff for coordinated patient care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental process improvements
- Mentor and support new sonographers and students in the MFM setting
- Candidates must live at least 90 miles from the facility to be considered
- Facility reserves the right to cancel up to three shifts per 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances
