Description
American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with 2+ years of experience to perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures in a hospital setting.
Details
- Cardiology reading unit within a hospital setting
- Day shift, 5x8 hour shifts per week
- 13-week assignment
Requirements
- Associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited nuclear medicine program required
- ARRT registered nuclear medicine technologist required
- Current BLS certification required
- License required if applicable
- 2+ years of experience preferred
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs independently and assist with patient transfers over 100 lbs using proper techniques or mechanical aids
- Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
Additional Information
- Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures including radiopharmaceutical preparation, calculation, and administration as prescribed by a licensed practitioner
- Position and prepare patients for imaging procedures, ensuring comfort and cooperation
- Operate radiation detection and imaging equipment to complete procedures
- Evaluate images for technical quality and proper identification
- Assist licensed practitioners with interventional procedures and verify informed consent
- Perform venipuncture and practice aseptic techniques as needed
- Initiate basic life support actions when necessary
- Maintain patient records and confidentiality per policy
- Provide instruction to students or other healthcare professionals as needed
- Participate in departmental quality assessment and improvement initiatives
- CRASE training required if assignment extends beyond 6 months
- Work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with exposure to infectious materials and PPE protocols
