Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry night shift position requiring 2+ years of recent experience and at least one completed travel assignment.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry overflow unit handling post-surgical and observation patients
• Unit is transitioning to a team nursing model
• Patient ratio of 1:6/7
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-07:00)
• Weekend and on-call coverage required as needed
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact) in compliance with NLC guidelines required, pending licensure not accepted
• Current certifications: BLS and NIHSS
• Telemetry skills required, with IV start experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required, 3+ years preferred
• At least 1 completed previous travel assignment required, first-time travelers not accepted
• ADN accepted for this position
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Driver's license copy required for consideration

Additional Information

• Deliver direct patient care within a Med/Surg Telemetry overflow unit
• Holiday coverage required if Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's fall during the assignment, must work 2 of the 3; if only 2 holidays fall during the assignment, must work at least 1
• Local candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• Former permanent staff or travelers must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning
• All requested time off must be submitted upfront, as RTO requests made after an offer will not be honored
