Description

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown RN for a night shift contract requiring KY or compact RN license, ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certification, and 2 years of relevant experience.

Details

  • Step Down/PCU unit caring for cardiac telemetry, neurological, GI, and respiratory patients
  • 1:5 patient ratio
  • Night shift, rotating 36/48 schedule (one week 3x12, next week 4x12, 19:00-7:30)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required within scope of practice
  • Meditech charting experience preferred
  • No blocked scheduling accommodations

Requirements

  • Active KY or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • AVADE Level I & II certification preferred
  • 2 years of recent Stepdown/PCU experience required, including 3-6 months Level IV Trauma or above
  • Skills required include central line care, PICC line management, IV therapy, chest tube management, cardiac drip management, and dysrhythmia interpretation
  • Two professional references required (one Charge or higher, one Supervisor), both completed within the last year
  • Copy of certifications and driver's license required, with DL address matching permanent address
  • Middle name confirmation required for submission

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care within a Stepdown/PCU setting, managing cardiac, neuro, GI, and respiratory conditions
  • Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted; medical and religious exemptions considered case-by-case
  • Must work either a major or minor holiday during the assignment
  • Up to 7 days of RTO considered if submitted upfront; no changes accepted after submission
  • Only local candidates within 75 miles of the facility will be accepted
  • Travel pairs accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same unit or shift
  • Returning travelers must take a minimum 6-month break after working one year in the system before being eligible to return
  • Assignment length is 13 weeks with no extensions approved
