Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Tele RN for a Level I Trauma Center, requiring prior travel experience and TN or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Med/Surg Tele unit in a Level I Trauma Center, short-term acute care hospital
- Team nursing model with a 1:12 patient ratio, split among 2 RNs, an LPN, and a Med Nurse
- Day shift, 4x12 hours (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
- On-call and weekend coverage required as needed
- Weekend block scheduling may be considered, to be discussed during interview
- Floating may occur between like units and campuses within a 20-mile radius
Requirements
- Active TN or compact RN license required, compliant with NLC guidelines
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg Tele experience required, 3+ years preferred
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Large hospital experience required
- Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
- BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- ADN accepted for this position
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
- Skills required: IV starts
- Preferred skills: chemo administration, conscious sedation
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care within a team nursing model on a busy Med/Surg Tele unit
- Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered, strict radius rule with no exceptions for locals
- If Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's all fall within the assignment, must work 2 of the 3 holidays
- If only 2 of these holidays fall within the assignment, must work at least 1
- Former permanent staff or travelers at this facility must be separated for at least 1 year before returning
- First-time travelers are not accepted unless they have 5+ years of specialty experience
- All requested time off must be submitted with the initial application; RTO requested after an offer will not be honored
