Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift contract requiring 2 years of MS/Tele experience and a KY or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the MS/Telemetry unit caring for MS/Tele and observation patients on short stays
• Patient ratio of approximately 1:5-7
• Night shift schedule (3x12 and 4x12 rotating, 19:00-7:30)
• Rotating 36/48 schedule totaling 84 hours per two-week pay period
• Floating required within scope of practice
• Every other weekend required
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated
• Meditech charting system experience preferred

Requirements

• Active KY or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• AVADE Level I & II certification preferred
• 2 years of recent MS/Tele or Telemetry experience required
• 3-6 months of Level IV Trauma or above experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and cardiac monitoring required
• Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
• Phlebotomy and PICC line management experience preferred
• Experience monitoring chemotherapy preferred
• Two professional references required, one from a Charge nurse or higher and one from a supervisor, both completed within the last year
• Copy of certifications and unexpired driver's license matching permanent address required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted; medical and religious exemptions considered case-by-case

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for MS/Tele and observation patients including cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management
• Care for patients with CVA, post-TPA, pre/post neurosurgery, and substance withdrawal conditions
• Manage wound care, IV insulin protocols, and isolation precautions
• Support ortho trauma and total joint replacement patients
• Must work either a major or minor holiday for every holiday period
• Up to 7 days of RTO considered if presented upfront with no changes accepted afterward
• Travelers must take a minimum 6-month break after one year before returning to the system
• Only one position submission allowed at a time
• Travel pairs accepted on a limited basis and will not be scheduled on the same shift or unit
• Only local candidates within 75 miles of the facility will be accepted
