Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification and EPIC experience.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a 162-bed acute care facility featuring a Level III NICU and county-designated trauma center
• Care provided across antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, including emergency situations and circulating for C-Sections
• Night shift, 1900-0730, 36 hours per week
• Schedule is based on unit need with no block scheduling
• EPIC experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certifications required
• Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) or AWHONN certification required
• Minimum two years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• No prior disciplinary action on nursing license permitted

Additional Information

• Performs physical and psychosocial assessments considering age, cultural differences, and support for fetal demise
• Initiates multidisciplinary, goal-oriented care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
• Manages perinatal emergencies including crash C-section, precipitous delivery, and shoulder dystocia
• Assesses fetal and maternal well-being, amniotic fluid status, and vaginal bleeding, recognizing and managing abnormalities
• Manages labor pain control, including alternative pain control methods and epidural catheter placement support
• Educates patients and families throughout all stages of the perinatal period
• No radius rule applies; local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates
• Candidates with more than 5 days of requested time off will not be considered
