Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification and Epic experience at a Level III NICU facility.

Details

• Labor and Delivery unit within a 162-bed acute care facility featuring a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center
• Provides care to patients and families during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum periods, including emergency situations and circulating for C-Sections
• Night shift schedule 7:00 PM-7:30 AM, 36 hours per week
• Scheduling is based on unit needs with no block scheduling
• Requires Epic EMR experience

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certifications required
• Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) or AWHONN certification required
• Minimum two years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Candidates with a prior hit on license will not be considered

Additional Information

• Performs physical and psychosocial assessments considering age, cultural differences, and support for fetal demise
• Initiates multidisciplinary, goal-oriented care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
• Manages perinatal emergencies including crash C-section, precipitous delivery, and shoulder dystocia
• Assesses fetal and maternal well-being, amniotic fluid status, and vaginal bleeding, recognizing and managing abnormalities
• Manages pain control including support for alternative pain control methods and epidural catheter placement
• Supervises and delegates care responsibilities to ancillary personnel according to scope of practice
• Position is represented by CNA
• Accepts local candidates with no radius rule; local rates match travel rates
