Description

American Traveler is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a day shift hospital position requiring RRT/CRT certification and at least 1 year of hospital respiratory experience.

Details

• Hospital setting with respiratory care across Emergency, Neonatal, Pediatric, Geriatric, and Critical Care specialty areas
• Responsibilities include ventilator management, medication administration, arterial blood gas draws, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Day shift schedule
• 13-week assignment

Requirements

• Active state license required if applicable
• RRT or CRT credential required
• BLS certification required (within 90 days of hire)
• NRP certification required (within 6 months of hire)
• Minimum 1 year of respiratory experience in a hospital setting
• Graduate of a COARC-approved Respiratory Care Program
• Pulmonary diagnostics experience preferred
• Cardiac diagnostics experience (EKG, Holter monitor, Event Monitor, Cardiac Stress Testing) preferred

Additional Information

• Perform effective airway management including bag/mask ventilation and assist with intubation
• Initiate, maintain, and monitor ventilator patients while interpreting flow volumes and pressure volume curves
• Perform patient assessments across neonatal, pediatric, geriatric, and critical care populations
• Assist in orientation and training of new employees, students, and precept new staff
• Maintain accurate documentation and complete patient charge reconciliation
• Adhere to facility dress code and attire policies
• Comply with PPE requirements for exposure to blood, chemicals, and other hazardous substances
