Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring an active MI RN license and at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience.
Details
- Med/Surg unit caring for a mix of medical and surgical patients, including ortho/neurovascular, cardio/pulmonary, GI, urology, hysterectomy, and mastectomy cases
- Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30, with 36 or 48 hour week options available
- Every other weekend required
- Floats to other Med/Surg units approximately once per week
- Staffing ratio of 1:5-6 at night, which may flex to 7-8 patients with LPN support
- Works alongside a variety of staff including RNs, LPNs, and Techs
- Must be available for the first 2 weeks of assignment for orientation
Requirements
- Active Michigan RN license required
- BLS (AHA) required; candidates with pending certification may be considered if willing to obtain
- Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required, with 2+ years preferred
- Supervisor-level references required
Additional Information
- Travelers are prioritized for floating assignments
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions, though a local rate may apply for travelers within 50 miles
- RTO limited to no more than 10 days
- Previous internal travelers may return after 6 months; previous permanent staff may return after 1 year
- Proof of flu vaccination required with submission, or exemption request within 48 hours of signing
- Annual self-reported training modules completed during orientation
- Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed or approved at this time
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
