Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring an active MI RN license and at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience.

Details

• Med/Surg unit caring for a mix of medical and surgical patients, including ortho/neurovascular, cardio/pulmonary, GI, urology, hysterectomy, and mastectomy cases
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00-7:30, with 36 or 48 hour week options available
• Every other weekend required
• Floats to other Med/Surg units approximately once per week
• Staffing ratio of 1:5-6 at night, which may flex to 7-8 patients with LPN support
• Works alongside a variety of staff including RNs, LPNs, and Techs
• Must be available for the first 2 weeks of assignment for orientation

Requirements

• Active Michigan RN license required
• BLS (AHA) required; candidates with pending certification may be considered if willing to obtain
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required, with 2+ years preferred
• Supervisor-level references required

Additional Information

• Travelers are prioritized for floating assignments
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restrictions, though a local rate may apply for travelers within 50 miles
• RTO limited to no more than 10 days
• Previous internal travelers may return after 6 months; previous permanent staff may return after 1 year
• Proof of flu vaccination required with submission, or exemption request within 48 hours of signing
• Annual self-reported training modules completed during orientation
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed or approved at this time
