Description
American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift assignment requiring advanced care/stepdown experience and OH or compact RN licensure.
Details
- Mixed acuity telemetry unit caring for advanced care level patients requiring advanced drip management
- Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
- 36 or 48 hour contracts accepted, with OT paid after 48 hours for 48-hour contracts
- Target patient ratios of 1:4, up to 1:5-6
- Unit may utilize a team nursing model with RNs, LPNs, and PCTs partnering to care for patient groups
- Required to work every other weekend and every other holiday
- Required to float to all Stepdown/Advanced Care units, including potential floating to Main, South, and North campuses
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active OH RN license or compact license required
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required or willingness to obtain
- Minimum 2 years experience in a large hospital setting, Level 1 trauma preferred, Level 2 accepted
- Must be able to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips
- Must pass an online EKG telemetry competency assessment prior to starting assignment
- Experience with cardiac drip titration, IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, and PCA required
- Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure preferred
- Post cardiac angiogram experience preferred
- Travel nursing experience preferred
- Candidates with any past license disciplinary action will not be accepted
- Medical exemptions will not be accepted for this contract
Additional Information
- Provide advanced telemetry nursing care within a team or primary nursing model depending on unit needs
- May be fitted for N95 respirator prior to working on HRRU unit unless PAPR is provided
- Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract, with no more than 7 days typically approved
- No schedule requests or RTO negotiable after an offer is made
- Local candidates not accepted; must reside outside a 50-mile radius
- No travel partners accepted for this assignment
- Previous PERM/PRN staff or prior agency travelers not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before reapplying and require facility rehire approval
- Travelers are not eligible for facility employee incentives
- Lab work and EKG/Dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours of signing contract
