Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with 2+ years of cardiac cath lab experience and ARRT(R) or CCI RCIS certification for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital.

Details

  • Interventional and diagnostic cardiac cath lab setting with 6 procedure rooms
  • Adult patient population with a daily census of 15-20
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • Common diagnoses include coronary artery disease, valve disorders, heart failure, and atrial septal defect/patent foramen ovale closures
  • Advanced procedures performed include TAVR, left atrial appendage closures, Cardiomems, thrombectomy, mitral clips, renal denervation, and research protocols
  • Equipment used includes IABP, Impella, Penumbra, Rotapro, CSI, Shockwave, laser, OCT, and IVUS
  • Epic charting system required
  • 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
  • On-call requirement of 7 on-call shifts and 5 late shifts per 6-week period, including one full weekend (Fri-Sun) and one Saturday shift for elective cases
  • Must be able to return to the hospital within 30 minutes when called for on-call shifts

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in cardiac cath lab required, 3+ years preferred
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and ARRT(R) or CCI RCIS certification required
  • ARRT(R) Virginia state license preferred; license required if applicable
  • Skilled in cardiac cath lab procedures including LHC, RHC, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, atherectomy, temporary pacer, Impella, IABP, TAVR, Watchman, and Mitraclip
  • Proficient in sterile technique, EKG lead placement, dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and rapid response protocols
  • Experience in diagnostic and interventional cath lab settings using fluoroscopy required
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions, equipment handling, and supply management required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • Prior travel healthcare experience required

Additional Information

  • Work at a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital with ACC accreditation for PCI procedures
  • Perform procedural responsibilities including accurate monitoring, equipment setup, EKG lead placement, prepping access sites, and recognizing life-threatening arrhythmias
  • Serve as room circulator and scrub to maintain sterile field
  • Support ASD closures, cardiac implant closure devices, diagnostic catheterizations, PA line insertion, and central venous line care and maintenance
  • Work alongside a multidisciplinary team supporting adjacent cardiac surgery and hybrid ORs
  • Must be available to work or take call for one holiday per 13-week contract in rotation with staff
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
  • Local candidates within 100 miles of the facility are not accepted
  • Previous employees must have a minimum one-year separation before returning as a traveler
