Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with 2+ years cardiac cath lab experience and ARRT(R) or CCI RCIS certification for an acute care teaching hospital assignment.

Details

• Acute care teaching hospital with 6 procedure rooms and a daily census of 15-20 adult patients
• Common diagnoses include coronary artery disease, valve disorders, heart failure, and ASD/PFO closures
• Advanced procedures performed include TAVR, left atrial appendage closures, Cardiomems, thrombectomy, mitral clips, and renal denervation
• Equipment used includes IABP, Impella, Penumbra, Rotapro, CSI, Shockwave, laser, OCT, and IVUS
• Epic EMR required
• 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
• On-call requirement of 7 on-call shifts and 5 late shifts every 6-week period, including one full weekend (Fri-Sun) and one Saturday for elective cases
• Must be able to return to the hospital within 30 minutes when called
• Must be available to work or take call one holiday per 13-week contract in rotation with staff

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years cardiac cath lab experience required; 3+ years preferred
• ACLS and BLS certification required
• ARRT(R) or CCI RCIS certification required; license required if applicable
• Virginia state license preferred for ARRT(R); active license in hand or pending accepted with emergency authorization available
• Experience with LHC, RHC, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, atherectomy, temporary pacer, Impella, IABP, TAVR, Watchman, and Mitraclip
• Skilled in sterile technique, EKG lead placement, dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and rapid response protocols
• Experience in diagnostic and interventional cath lab settings using fluoroscopy
• Knowledge of isolation precautions, equipment handling, and supply management
• Epic charting experience required
• Travel experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred

• Responsibilities include room circulator duties, scrubbing to maintain sterile field, prepping access sites, and equipment set up
• Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility, recognized as a certified stroke center
• American College of Cardiology accredited for PCI procedures with adjacent cardiac surgery and hybrid ORs
• Supported by a multidisciplinary team performing thousands of advanced diagnostic and interventional procedures annually
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
• Local candidates within 100 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Previous employees must have a minimum one-year break before returning as a traveler
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront with the application
