Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN-Telemetry for a MedSurg/Cardiac unit, requiring 1 year of telemetry experience and an active MI RN license.

Details

• Work in the Telemetry unit of a MedSurg/Cardiac Floor
• Patient population includes cardiac, neurological/psychiatric, GI, and renal cases
• 1:5 patient ratio
• Night shift, 2x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• 13-week assignment length
• Uses Cerner PowerChart for charting
• Floating required based on facility census and staffing needs

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• 1 year of telemetry nursing experience required
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, PICC line management, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP and high flow nasal cannula
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care
• Knowledge of heparin protocols and management of cardiac/vasoactive drips

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care for cardiac telemetry, CVA, seizure disorder, and substance withdrawal patients
• Utilize rapid response/code teams as needed
• Manage feeding tubes, surgical drains, and renal failure patients
• Maximum of 10 days RTO permitted
• Candidates requesting holiday RTO must be willing to work one of the three major holidays
• Former employees must be separated from the facility for 3 years before returning as a traveler
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Required to complete orientation modules within the first week of the assignment
