Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a fast-paced, high-volume night shift position requiring MD or compact RN license and 2 years of ED experience.

Details

  • Work in a high-volume, fast-paced, non-trauma Emergency Department
  • 66 rooms/beds with an average census of approximately 200 patients
  • Patient population spans all ages, from neonates to geriatrics
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, up to 1:5 with lower acuity patients
  • Department includes a 10-bed ED hold/Obs unit staffed by the ER team with a 1:5 ratio, up to 1:6 with lower acuity
  • Rotation among staff for the ED hold/Obs unit assignments as needed
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (20:00-08:30)
  • 36 hours per week, every other weekend required
  • Floating required within the specialty, including the ED hold/Obs unit
  • No pre-scheduled on-call shifts required

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Maryland or Compact) required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI required
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of patient diagnoses and acuities
  • Holiday coverage required as scheduled
  • First-time travelers accepted if they have strong ED experience
