Description

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care Unit RN for a night shift position requiring an active KY or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Details

• 28-bed stroke/telemetry progressive care unit functioning as ICU step-down
• Cares for stroke and telemetry-monitored patients with an RN to patient ratio of 5:1
• Performs or assists with bedside procedures including cardioversions, sheath pulls, post-pacemaker care, and AIRVO therapy
• 3x12 night shift schedule, 7p-7a
• Weekend and holiday rotation required

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license required
• BLS certification required
• ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
• No prior nursing experience required, though previous nursing experience is preferred
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures
• Comfortable using computer systems and applications or ability to be trained

Additional Information

• Provides comprehensive nursing assessments, care planning, and treatment implementation based on evidence-based practice
• Coordinates admission, transfer, and discharge activities along with patient and family education
• Delegates and oversees patient care tasks performed by other team members
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement initiatives such as patient satisfaction, fall prevention, and documentation audits
• Candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility to qualify for the standard pay rate; local candidates accepted at a lower rate
